So how does Hubpages work? Let’s get something else straight. All of these fancy names people dream up for things these days just baffle most of us. OK they may have good reasons for doing it but its just plain confusing sometimes if you’re a beginner or new to this particular field. Hubpages is basically a website, granted it’s a whopper! I think there are around 800,000 “hubbers” and more joining every day. Hubs are just web pages. Each one is created by people just like you and me.

Why write hubs? Because you can. Seriously, people write hubs for a number of reasons. Some do it for the pleasure, pure and simple. They want to share their thoughts, recipes, poetry, or pet grooming tips. You name it, someone’s probably written a hub about it, or someone’s writing one now. Other folk do it to earn a little cash.

I know the next question “How much can I earn?” If you want a precise figure I’m going to have to disappoint you, it really is like asking “how long’s a piece of string”. Some folk earn a few dollars a month, others earn hundreds a month, but they are very serious about it and commit the time and effort to write about things that will earn money. They do the research to find out what to write about and they’ve learned how to get readers to their hubs. But it’s not rocket science, you could do it too.

So how’s it work? You sign up, which is free and you write about stuff. Don’t tell me you can’t write, these are not novels or works of “Literature”. Actually some are but yours don’t need to be. Start of by writing about something you’re really interested in while you get the hang of it. If you look at a hub they are usually written in small chunks and you can include pictures.

“Show me the money” when your hubs are published and unleashed on the world, Hubpages includes “Google ads” When people click on the ads hubpages gets paid by Google. They share that money with you.
